October is the gateway month to the busiest time of the year. Autumn is starting to settle, school is in session, and the blazing summer is finally coming to an end. What most people don’t know is that October is also Kitchen & Bath Month. Kitchen & Bath Month? There’s a month for that?
The National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) launched Kitchen & Bath Month in 1982, after observations found that October is the most popular time for renovations and/or remodeling of the two most important rooms in the house, leading up to the holidays. It’s a busy month for both homeowners and designers, as homeowners want a fresh upgrade to keep their kitchen memorable for their guests and as designers work hard throughout the month to turn these visions into a reality.
Homeowners are encouraged to use online resources, such as NKBA.org and houzz.com, to connect with designers and manufacturers to plan strategies for their kitchen and bath transformations. Both online resources contain inspiration galleries of various designs and layouts; you could spend hours browsing through the gallery and noting elements that appeal to your design personality. You can take it a step further by using these sites to search for professionals in your area that can guide you in the right direction.
While you’re on houzz, make sure you check out our Projects and Ideabooks for great kitchen storage ideas.
